2UZ-FE ECU Pinout Guide: Wiring Wisdom for Toyota’s Legendary V8
If you are reading this, you are likely either troubleshooting a check engine light on your Land Cruiser (100 Series), Tundra, Sequoia, or LX 470, or you are in the glorious (and sometimes painful) process of swapping this bulletproof 4.7L V8 into something it was never meant to fit in.
- Non-VVT-i (1998-2004): Found in early UZJ100, Tundra, Sequoia. Uses a cable-operated throttle body (ETCS-i was introduced later in some markets).
- VVT-i (2005-2007/2011): Found in later LX470, 4Runner, and FJ Cruiser (VMotive). Uses Electronic Throttle Control (ETCS-i) and variable valve timing.

Outputs: Injectors and Ignition
The 2UZ-FE fires sequentially. The ECU grounds the injectors and ignition coils individually. 2UZ-FE ECU Pinout Guide: Wiring Wisdom for Toyota’s
Key Differences:
- Symptom: Engine turns over, never fires.
- Pinout Fix: Locate E7-6 (Fuel Pump Relay) . Check for ground signal while cranking. If no ground, check NE+ signal (Crank position) on E6-16. The ECU won’t prime the pump if it doesn’t see crank rotation.
