Dahua devices have a built-in security feature called the "Lock" or "Reset" function. If you enter an incorrect password multiple times (usually 5 times), the device locks you out for a specific duration. To bypass this without losing data, you can use the device's unique Serial Number to generate a temporary reset code.

Step 1: Download and install ConfigTool. Ensure you have version V4.x or higher, as older versions do not support the new encryption algorithms. Download the latest ConfigTool from the official Dahua

Open the DMSS mobile app and go to Me > Tool Manager > Device Password Management. Contact Support: Email your full device serial number

Enter the Reset Code: Once you receive the temporary code (usually within 24–48 hours), go to the login screen on your device. Enter the code in the password field.

1. Download the latest ConfigTool from the official Dahua website.
2. Run the tool – it will automatically scan your local network for Dahua devices.
3. Find your device by its IP address or serial number.
4. Click the “Forgot Password” or “Reset Password” option.
5. The tool will generate a security code or a reset request file.
6. Send this code/file to the official Dahua support email address listed in the tool (e.g., password@dahuasecurity.com).
7. Within a few minutes to 24 hours, you will receive a reset code or file back, provided the device’s registered email matches your request.
