Hqplayer Equalizer ~upd~ -
Master Audio Calibration: A Guide to the HQPlayer Equalizer HQPlayer is renowned in the audiophile world for its advanced resampling and digital signal processing (DSP) pipeline . While many users focus on its oversampling filters, the HQPlayer Equalizer
Quick start recommendation
- Start with just 2–3 filters (e.g., cut 50 Hz by –3 dB, cut 120 Hz by –2 dB, add +1.5 dB high-shelf at 10 kHz).
- Set HQPlayer’s volume to –3 dB (or enable Auto volume).
- Listen to familiar acoustic tracks (piano, female voice, double bass).
- Adjust one filter at a time.
Quick troubleshooting
- If sound becomes harsher after EQ: undo recent high-mid boosts; add a narrow cut around 3–6 kHz.
- If imaging collapses or stereo feel changes: reduce extreme asymmetric EQ between left/right channels, and prefer small broad adjustments.
- If there’s new noise or artifacts: check resampling/filter settings and try moving EQ after resampling, or reduce Q/boost values.
Performance and Evaluation
Key Features of HQPlayer Equalizer
Sample Rate Agnostic: Using PEQ text files is often preferred over convolution because the filters are sampling-rate agnostic, meaning you don't need separate filter files for different input rates. hqplayer equalizer

Thank you so much Dr Steven. Your article helped me a lot 🙂
Hi
Thank You Steven for the great help.
I need to know if any of these softwares can help me design multiplex pcr primer sets
I need something to help me analyse Self Complementary structures
Regards
Hi Nima
Many thanks for your comment.
For multiplex primer design tools that are free, your choices are rather limited. I did see a recent one called oli2go. I have never used this, but it does look like it may help you out.
If you find any more, please let me know and I can update the list.
Best wishes,
Steven
hi steven ,
thanks alot for ur incredible article , i wish you tell me which tool would be useful for divergent primer design ?
