The MCP2551 is a high-speed CAN (Controller Area Network) transceiver, but because it’s an interface component rather than a microcontroller, it’s often missing from standard Proteus libraries.  1. Finding & Installing the MCP2551 Library 

• Pin 1: TXD (Transmit Data input from CAN controller)
• Pin 2: GND
• Pin 3: Vcc (4.5V to 5.5V)
• Pin 4: RXD (Receive Data output to CAN controller)
• Pin 5: Vref (Reference voltage, often left unconnected)
• Pin 6: CANL (Low-side CAN bus)
• Pin 7: CANH (High-side CAN bus)
• Pin 8: RS (Slope resistor / standby control)

4.2 Installation Procedure

1. Copy Library Files: Copy the downloaded MCP2551.LIB and MCP2551.IDX into the LIBRARY folder.
2. Copy Model Files (if any): Some models come with .MODEL or .VSM files. Copy those into the MODELS folder (usually alongside LIBRARY).
3. Refresh Library: In Proteus, go to System > Check for Library Updates or simply restart Proteus.
