By 2021, official support had long ceased, leaving devices vulnerable and sluggish. This paper examines the state of custom ROM development for the SM-T116 in 2021, focusing on available third-party firmware, installation methods, performance improvements, and limitations. We conclude that while development was sparse, dedicated community projects extended the device’s usability for basic tasks.
