The final frame of the video was a close-up of her eyes. In 4k, the reflection in her pupil was visible. It wasn't a camera she was looking at, but a mirror. She was looking at herself, making sure she still existed.
- Rip the Source: Use MakeMKV to create a lossless MKV from the original URE088 Blu-ray. Do not use re-encoded rips (YIFY, etc.); they lack the bitrate needed for upscaling.
- Deinterlace & Inverse Telecine: Ensure the footage is progressive 24p or 60p. Many scenes in URE088 utilize 3:2 pulldown that must be reversed.
- AI Model Selection: Use the "Gaia-HQ" or "Proteus" model in Topaz Video AI. Set the "Revert Compression" to 45 and "Deblock" to 30. For the specific night scenes in URE088, use "Artemis-LQ" (Low Quality) to reclaim grain without aliasing.
- Bitrate Export: Export in H.265 (HEVC) at a constant rate factor (CRF) of 16. Do not use H.264; it quadruples the file size for no visual gain on URE088’s texture.
